Our Enemy: (Article continued from "The Savior")

Intro | Creation | Our Dilemma | The Savior | Our Enemy | The Options | A Final Word |

Jesus is not a deceiver or a liar. There is one who is both of these however, and he is satan. Satan hates you. Understand that he hates your very existence. Your life is a stench to him. He hates you because God loves you and you have a promise of reconciliation with God.

Satan has one objective and one objective only: To steal, to kill, to destroy, and to bring as many people down to hell with him as he possibly can. “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I (Jesus) am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

He will use everything in his arsenal to try and bring your life to an end before and even after you accept Jesus. He will try to tempt you with every imaginable evil thing, hoping that you'll rebel against God. Satan is the inspiration behind all evil and by giving into his will we make him our master. Satan has spent all of his existence trying to be God. He is not God however, he is not even close, and he will never be. Satan is a fallen angel. He cannot create new laws; he can only function by the manipulation, perversion, and distortion of God's laws. Satan’s fate is hell; hell was created for him, and once he is removed from the earth he will spend eternity there.

Those who fail to recognize and accept his existence are the ones most susceptible to his attacks. In this life each of us has an appointed number of years to discover and accept the truth. Since our creation the devil has spent every moment trying to prevent us from the truth. When we discover and accept the truth he no longer has a grip on our lives. Sure bad things will continue to happen, but the truth prepares the way for our eternity, where there is no such evil.

If you do not “believe” in the devil you are only fooling yourself. There is an evident evil force in this world; we can see it in our every day lives. Things that cause destruction, destruction of lives, destruction of friendships, destruction of families, and destruction of marriages, these things are evil. Murderers, thieves, drug-lords, wicked men and women, they are clear problems in our societies.

Today there are many religions and belief systems that sound pleasing to men and women. "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (2 Timothy 4:3, 4) Anyone however who denies that Jesus is the risen Savior is blind. They say they can see, but they walk in darkness. Their folly is before them, and a pit awaits both them and those who walk in their ways. These men and woman who chase after the lusts of the flesh and of this world are destined for destruction! Run from these false teachers and liars! They are blind. "Can the blind lead the blind? Shall they not both fall into the ditch? “(Luke 6:39) These blind teachers and leaders, because they are blind, walk gladly into the trap satan has prepared for them. Do not be blind yourself and follow them, seek the truth!

Therefore “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (1 Peter 5:8)

Stay alert, stay focused and test all things. Do not give satan a foothold in your life. Don’t be caught up in the philosophies of men. Man is flawed therefore so are his philosophies. Human nature is to only serve oneself. Instead seek God with an open heart, seek His approval, hunger and thirst for His righteousness and you will be made full. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” (James 4:7, 8)
