[#41] "This
earth is not our final destination"
We
are to look at this earth as a temporary dwelling place. Not just
this earth but our bodies as well. The Bible refers to our bodies
as “tents”.
Take a look at yourself right now, look at your hands, arms, legs,
and face if you have a mirror handy. Every flesh, blood and bone
part of your body is only temporary! Our bodies as they are now cannot
last forever because they’ve been tainted with sin. Those who
trust in Christ are instantly redeemed, but not instantly (physically)
transformed. Those who have put their trust in Jesus will however
receive glorified bodies after death on this earth!
[#42] "A
warning to the proud"
Understand
that satan is the father of lies and of all that is false (See John
8:44.)
Pride is a lie. Pride is trying to gain glory for something
God has given you. Whether it’s an ability, talent or
possession, all good things are from God and He deserves the
glory for them, not us. Understand that it is ok for you to
be happy and satisfied with your accomplishments, but it’s
not ok to be arrogant, conceited, or self-righteous. C. S Lewis
once wrote "Pride gets no pleasure out of having something,
only out of having more of it than
the next man."
[#43] "The
age of the digital thief"
There
are many situations and circumstances we encounter in life that the
Bible does not address directly. Instead of addressing every single
circumstance directly, God has chosen to set commands, laws and guidelines
by which all situations are to be governed. It is our job to contrast
and compare the situations of our life to the commands, laws and
guidelines God has established. By this manner, through searching
the Scriptures (and listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit for
the two will always agree) an answer to any circumstances can be
obtained.
[#44] "Let's
take back Canada"
Though
it may look like we have been spiritually defeated as a country,
do not be discouraged, God still has yet to fulfill His purpose in
this nation, and what a great purpose it is! Friends, God is with
us, He won’t fail us and He won’t forsake us! God will
be with us right up until the time that we have completed our ordained
tasks; our first priority is to put our trust in Him.
[#45] "God
has forgiven you, you can too!"
No
one who loves God can sin and feel guiltless. Once we genuinely repent
for our sin against God however guilt and shame should no longer
have a place in us. Initial guilt is good because that guilt will
many times lead to repentance. Once you have asked God for forgiveness
however you are no longer guilty before God and any thought to the
contrary is from the enemy. “If
we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1
John 1:9)
[#46] "The
light of God's Word"
It’s
funny how God will reveal simple but essential truths to us in our
every day lives. The other day I was outside mowing the lawn when
I noticed a piece of wood lying on the ground. It was about three
square feet and had been blown over by the wind (it was leaning against
the house). I bent down to pick up the board and as I did I noticed
all the grass that was underneath the board had died. At that moment
the Lord spoke to my spirit.
[#47] "Confronting
homosexuality in today's world"
Therefore
understand this: if I judge by the Bible I simply agree with the
author. Consequently it is not me who judges but God’s Word,
and therefore God Himself. This is not to say however that I do not
fully agree with Scripture. It is not man’s place to judge,
the Lord is the only one worthy of that seat; however we have been
left with the task of proclaiming the truth the nations of this world
so that they may escape destruction. Therefore again today let the
truth be proclaimed, and let each one of us be corrected by God’s
Word, so that we may in fact escape destruction of both body and
soul.
[#48] "Dear
Jesus"
Your ways
are just and true. In you lies peace and safety. Your words are a
resting place for the weary; in them I take refuge. You are mightier
then all. Who can rebel against you and succeed? Can the created
contest the creator? Surely not! You have reserved for the wicked
the darkest of pits. Surly the Day of Judgment is coming and the
wicked will not escape.
[#49] "How
much do you love Jesus?"
Awake,
all of you who recognize disobedience in your life! Awake all of
you who are only going through the motions of Christianity! Simply
going through the motions of Christianity quenches the true power
of the Holy Spirit to work through you to accomplish God’s
will in the earth. Humble yourself before God and seek His face.
Pray earnestly and wholeheartedly. Turn from the wicked ways of hypocrisy
and laziness and call upon the Lord! “If
my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then
will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal
their land.”
(2 Chronicles 7:14)
